1) Read the first two articles. Write one paragraph on each summing up the key aspects.

This article is written by a researcher (previously a media teacher) and his observation on the relationship between the youth and this digital era.
The article is about trying to understand the changes and links between
dynamic change in students overall development and learning. For example, this article takes about current anxieties brought on by social media which are then inflicted into their daily life showing how dominating and authoritative the internet can be. The research also emphasised the fact that schools are highly unaware of cultural and social influence that the media can have and tend to be less involve with the student's online life to due the fears of unfolding illegal or inappropriate data such as porn or derogatory sites.

This article talks the new profound app called 'Periscope'. The app allows the online users to live stream themselves from their phones, while giving access to a large audience of people from sites such as Twitter and Periscope itself. However, with an app like Periscope it does cause a potential threat to major media companies that have a paided prescription such as Netflix or Hulu.
The users of Periscope will use periscope to live stream shows on these sites such as Netflix or elsewhere to allow those who do not have such paid subscription to view. On the contrary, the app continues to connect people through a live feed, whether it be live streaming a class, event or even just filming themselves for family and friends.

2) Now read the A2 A* essay. Why do you think it was so successful?
The app 'Spotify' is undoubtedly highly successful and an extremely successful established app however it does suffer some problems.
Firstly, despite it being a free app that allows you to listen to thousands of songs and make playlists that can shared around the world, the app requires WiFi connection which is a restricting factor.
Secondly, the free music app known as 'Spotify' seems to have new rivals such as 'Apple music and Tidal' which do not offer this privilege and seem to be doing just as well.
In addition, the decision of artists to not place their music on the app due to it being 'free' just as Taylor Swift and etc shows the discontent with the features of the app.

3) Finally, answer this question in a well developed paragraph on your blog: How has digital media changed your life in the last 5 years (for positive or negative)?

The growth of the digital media within these years has meant that the internet has become a more influential figure within my life. This can be shown through my constant use of the internet for example, using my phone to track the bus time in the mornings and listening to music. Within school premises, to do my homework, revision and research.
Lastly in terms of leisure time, this would be shown through my obsession with social media sites such twitter and the ones mention before such as Spotify and Periscope.
