1. TV broadcasters 'failing to represent society'

The report looks at how the TV industry( mainly BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky and Channel 5) can improve as it is stated that 'it paints a worrying picture with many broadcasters unable to monitor the the makeup of their employees'
The report showed that women within the workforce accounted for 48% whilst account for 51% of the general public. In addition, those from ethnic groups such as Black, Asian etc account for only 12% of workers. This links to the another problem within the industry as many ethnic groups are highly unrepresented and negatively portrayed.
Lastly, the BBC aims for its empolyees to comprise of 50% women, 8% of disabled people, 8% perecent of LGBT community and 15% percent of ethic minorities such as Blacks/Asians by the end of 2020.
